Hi guys,
I am looking for a swim suit for my husband that will not bunch up under his wet suit. We have seen other divers wearing speedo-like suits that are of the same material but are cut like short trunks. I don't have any idea as to what this style is called or who makes them. Any info would be appreciated . . .I looked on ebay and just ended up getting an anatomy lession:) Thanks!

You want "bicycle" shorts that don't have the crotch padding. Try looking in the work-out or running section of a sporting goods store.

Also look for Jammers.

I just wear trunks, I don't have a Jammers body.... yet.

I wear a rashguard made by o'neill. Kind of look like bike shorts, but no padding. Wear them under your boardshorts onto the boat, and just pull your shorts off and suit up. Easy.

I just went to dicks sporting goods / sports authority and bought the speedo-like shorts you're talking about.

You don't want real bike shorts because they generally have a pad in them for the bicycle seat. These are often camois or similar and would feel and look funny. I got some board shorts, my wife ordered them and they are great for wearing on the boat or our boat or hanging out around the water but I cannot seem to wrassle them down into a wet suit despite my best efforts. Since I grew up swimming, from the time I could barely walk, competively swam, swam open water long distance and also triathlons I do not have the Speedo/lycra homo-phobia so prevelent is the USA (and mostly only the USA). There are a number of fairly modest garments of lycra, nylon that can be worn under board shorts and then when donning the wet suit just leave your nice board shorts on the boat so they will be dry when you return. Sometimes functionality has to take a priority. I am positive that both Speedo and Arena Sports have bike short like swimsuits. You might check some local triathlon, fitness, running stores and catalogs. People who cross train or compete in multisports often wear garments intended to go from track to water to bike. Some may have the bike pad, some don't. Just another direction to look in. N

I got a pair of these from my LDS, and they work great. They dry fast and are super comfortable. Henderson has something similar called Hot Skins. There are probably others as well. I used to wear board shorts that got all bunchy - never again. In the interest of modesty, I wear comfortable shorts over mine until it's tome to don my wetsuit.

Under Armour has an entire line of options. Good stuff.
