Hihi, I just got back from two weeks of Fabulicious diving in Ambon & Bali ... too lazy to write trip report and so just sharing some photos taken with my new baby, Nikon D90 with both 60mm & 105mm lens, together with single INON D2000 strobe. C&C welcome ;-)

As always, Happy bubbles,

Jovin - looks like a great trip, you did an excellent job with the photos with your new d90. You didn't see rhinopias? I thought Ambon was the "rhinopia capital". I recognize many of the critters you saw at Seraya from my last dives there.

btw, your photo labeled catfish I believe are actually Convict blennies, I've made the same mistake before.

Thanks for the kind comments. I'm still learning ;-)

@Kevster: The mimics were seen at a newly discovered dive site near to Puri Jati in North Bali. We were supposed to dive PJ but our guides told us that the site was ruined (emptied) so we decided to check out the new site. The landscape (sandy bottom with surge) is pretty much the same as PJ but the critters only concentrated at shallower depth ~ 4-6 meters. There were many octopus (some hiding in bottle and shells) on this site and I saw 15 mimics (or more) on 2 dives, some out in the open and 2 juveniles which are very pretty. Octopus is not my kind of photography - my friend, Daniel has some really good shots ;-) This site also has many Ambon scorpionfish, very tiny white flounder & lionfish, carpets of garden eels that my Dear found at ~9-meter, few unusual fish & nudibranchs that I've not seen before but I couldn't get a good photograph due to the surge.

@Scott: Thanks for the correction. It's always good to know my underwater friends by their right name .. Hehe

Thanks for making us travelling to Indonesia! Great pictures of my favourite critters: gobies, frogfish, nudibranches...
