Condolences to his family and friends

One of the true legends, incredible diver but the nicest and most humble person on the boat.

RIP:cheers:, and condolences to all his many friends.

Very strange that the seemingly benign problems led to his death. Will be very interesting to find out more about this incident.

Good reminder to always be prepared to treat DCS or other medical emergencies, have insurance, evacuation plans, know where the nearest chamber is, etc... Because you can follow all the rules and do all your deco perfectly and still get sick (even if it's extremely unlikely).

Will be interested to hear if any more details emerge in this case, or if it was just a totally random fluke of an accident as it currently appears to be.

From the article, it sounds like they did have emergency equipment and procedures (not to mention tons of experience doing far deeper dives). Sad loss, seems to have been a great guy and a great diver.

[WILD CONJECTURE AND SPECULATION] Perhaps it was something strange like a bad sensor calibration causing a leaner PO2 than intended. That could bend you with the computer displaying a "normal" profile. A PFO can also become symptomatic after years of normal diving. [/WILD CONJECTURE AND SPECULATION]
