So, i have a canon digital elph s200 with a canon underwater housing. I like it, small, pretty good pictures (even in Lake Mead!).

I have been thinking about an external strobe. and of course, i have tons of questions:

1. what do you all think of using Ultralight Control systems arm and adptare with UK Light Cannon HID?

2. what about the new SeaLife Digital Flash (SL960D)?

3. is the ikelite d50 really worth it?

4. has anyone done any underwater UV lit photo work?

and 5. how in the name of Zeus' butthole do the pros shoot entire underwater boats like in the dive mags?

also, i have a new canon powershot S1IS, anyone have any experience with this cameera underwater?

I have used the uv on my Sony cameria underwater when I didn't know that it was in that mode. It worked better than with the regular shots. The water was very, very murky to film and underwater scene that a Man was killed in a Frontloader that went into the water off a small bridge that collapsed. Just before the Police divers in Tacoma Wa. come on the scene, I had to photograph the Man and the Loader.
After the body was recovered, I went in to film much more before rigging up the loader and lifting it out. The Pictures came out the best in UV and even showed the Color, but was much more detailed than the reg. mode of the cameria.
I have tried the Canon HID with video tape but only works if in complete Night water. During the daylight only a spot results. The light has to be defused. I used even the defuser lenses that come with the cameria. I made the diffusion work better by spreading Silicone Grease on the lens of the light to diffuse the light a little more. B-
