I'm looking for a primary light...

I usually dive in cold water, low viz (don't have much choice here in eastern Canada!) and I will have my AOW cert in a couple weeks, so I want to have a good setup for night dives in these conditions. I was thinking about buying a UK SL4 eLed as a backup, but I don't know which primary would be better... The UK light cannon 100 seems like a good choice given the smaller size and cheaper rechargeable pack, but the UK D8 w/ rechargeable pack 30W bulb offers the low/high strenght config...

I'd like to have a good color fidelity but I fear that HID might be kind of an overkill and scare marine life away...

Budget isn't really important (4-500$ for the primary, backup and battery pack is ok for me)

What do you think? Any suggestions?

Thanks
