Hi, Im currently researching underwater communication systems to be used by a consultancy undertaking UK scientific research diving projects. We require wireless (ultrasonic) communications.
I have looked at equipment from:
- Ocean Reef (Neptune System)
- Ocean Technology System (Buddy Phone)
- Divelink US (Kirby Morgan ffm & dive link comms)

Prices are ranging massively between suppliers but its not proving easy to work quite why this is. Working out the pros and cons of different systems without actually trialling them is also tricky.

So...I seek help from Scubaboard...is anyone (who has used such comms or has good knowledge of them) able to provide impartial advice on the pros and cons of any of these different sets of systems? Impartial advice from the suppliers is obviously hard to come by!

Alternatively if any one is able to let me know of a commercial outfit (police divers, archaeological divers, scientific research dive teams etc) that they know are currently using wireless comms, that would be really useful.
Thanks for your time,

Holly

well I wish I could help, sounds really interesting, good luck

I would recommend the Ocean Reef Neptune II System. We use them all the time they fit most divers and are well designed.
