Today, after 150 or so dives, I wrote two words in my logbook that when I first started diving I would not have figured I would ever write in there:

1.) Snow - Air temp of 34F and windblown snow before, during, and after both dives today. Fortunately the water was 55F so we were able to warm up during our dives.

2.) Divemaster - Finally finished the last requirement for my DM certification! It's taken a while, what with my day job during the week and crewing on Gypsy Blood on weekends, but I'm done.

:D

Congrats on #2 (ewww, that doesnt sound so good!)

As for #1, once was enough for me!

Congratulations. Last year on News Years Eve I was diving Eastport Maine and when I surfaced it was snowing and I thought how cool is this. :coffee:

I'd guess at least in the 30's. :lotsalove:

In fact, the viz was better UNDER the water than above!

I just realized (after my buddy pointed it out) that I was probably next to you at Dutch Springs today. (Do you have a box with RJP written on it? Were you the guy diving doubles?)

Snow falling after surfacing was a first for me too. Kind of cool (in the non-temperature sense). Too bad I didn't have my camera.

There were a lot of people out at Dutch today--way more then I'd have expected on a snowy day. It was kind of cool to dive in snow, although I hope it was the last time I'll do it wet..brrrrrrr.

#1 Wonderful! I like diving when it snows. The entry can be slippery though depending on how deep it gets. I think it is the white wonderland-effect that is almost mesmerizing watching the snow fall that makes it interesting. (I dove yesterday in Mt Storm, WV with snow on the ground and some nearby beavers splashing in the water. The water was 60F.)

#2 I too completed my DM last month after a long haul. Congratulations!
