Two Weeks in Raja Ampat & Triton Bay Aboard MSY Damai

Dec 4 - Dec 18, 2010
This trip is limited to eight guests only.

14 nights - Departing Sorong, Return to Kaimana

The southwest coast of Papua provence has become one of the newest hot spots for adventure photographers. Mushroom-shaped limestone islands rise from pristine blue ocean. Cliffs hide ancient painted hyroglyphics. Palm-fringed beaches and mangroves surround deserted islands. This place is a photographer's paradise!

Beneath the water's smooth surface you'll find massive branches of soft coral and sea fans that blanket the reef as far as the eye can see. The colorful fusiliers, anthias and damselfish energize the scene like an explosion of confetti, while swarms of batfish evade the photographers pursuit.

This area holds world-class photo opportunities for the muck diver too. Every nook is occupied by exotic invertebrates and are crawling with many shrimp species. Its the best of everything in one small area; Harlequim shrimp, Epaulette shark, pygmie seahoreses, juvenile everything! And this area is a hot spot for finding new species. Getting here is no simple task, yet the most discriminating travelers flock to this area to photograph the undaunting diversity and perhaps even a species that is yet to be discovered.

This photo excursion is limited to eight guests only, so there will be plenty of time to work with each person one-on-one!

We will also offer several underwater photography related presentations on several of the evenings which include topics like photo composition, super macro photography, and more. This trip will be tailored to your needs and requests!

We've got a lot of interest in this trip and since I posted this its now half full (at least with verbal commitments), so if you wanted a room all to yourself there would be a 50% supplement. If you're traveling alone and would like for us to find you a roommate, we can do that too. What ever works best for you. I'll PM you my phone number if you've got more questions.

Hope you decide to join us!
