Two nighters out of Cairns?

Hi Folks- my first post:

My wife and I (both OW certified) plan on arriving in Cairns on Monday, November 30, 2009. We would like to hear your thoughts on 3-day, two night live-aboards. We have scoured this board and found lots of stuff. leaning towards The Cod Hole and Ribbon Reefs. We may have to change our flights if we sign up with Spirit of Freedom. If we stick to the outer reefs we won't have to change (Divers Den or Pro Dive). As first-time GBR divers, is Cod Hole and Ribbon Reefs worth the trip or will we be happy with the Outer Reef trips?

i'm currently sitting in a boat in Cairns and weathers lousy but the end of november is normaly excellent weather and chances are you will get great diving where ever you go. You never hear complaints about a trip up the ribbon reefs if you can afford the extra time and money.

the pro dive boat is good when i was on it but the cod hole and ribbon(sof or mike ball) will probley be a more
intersting and little more upper maket(although the pro dive boat is cheaper)

Meant to add. If you can change your flights, I would recommend the Cod Hole trip as it does have more varied and interesting diving for sure. Taka or Spirit both great boats.
