Hello, Just wondering if you guys think twin hp 130's on a dive rite transplate would be too much for rec. diving. I'm not worried with the weight or bulk. I plan on getting into tech later on. So I don't see why not going with the twin set up. The only bad thing is having to have two sets of regs. Anyway just thought I would run it by everybody. Any feedback would be great, especially anyone using a 130 twin setup. Thanks Eddie

What is your buddy going to be wearing?

The same set up. Buddy is my Dad

Actually he got me into the twin setup idea. Oh yeah that will be a din 300 bar setup

Also buying new reg sets, thinking (2) Scubapro mk25 s600's. Do you think that is overkill.

That's enough air to bend yourself at any recreational depth......kind of comparable to drinking a bucket full of water to wash down an aspirine.

R..

For recreational, no-deco diving, yes, I think the 130's are overkill. The 130's are the preferred cylinder for technical diving. For rec diving, I would think something like the HP-100's would be more than sufficient and a heck of alot lighter to be lugging around than the 130's. It all depends on how much gas you need for the dives you are doing. Most people get a couple sets of cylinders anyways, so get what you need right now, and then when you start doing deeper, longer dives, you can upgrade to a set of 130's. I actually think that a set of aluminum 80's would be even better for just getting into doubles, and for rec diving.

Sure, but if responsible dives are made it would be fine. Also, I forgot to mention with the twins thats enough to probably make 3 single tank dives. We will be diving a rock quarry near us, and traveling to springs in Florida. Any trips far off and we could use our regular bc, reg setup.
