My Tusa TR-200's have served me and then my kids well through the years but parts are now a thing of the past and need to be replaced. Trying to decide between the RS-460 (Tusa trade in program) and the Oceanic CDX5/Alpha8 (another trade in program). Reading/searching they both seem to be solid regs so I was wondering if anyone has used both and can give a comparison. Also real world experience with depth, warm/cold, service for if I need it away from my local LDS, etc. Mostly will be used for strictly recreational warm water diving but thinking about taking my son with me to Bikini. If either would work fine there it would be a bonus but not critical (my own current set is a Mk 18 with G250's). I need to buy another set anyway and can spend more on it later. Currently gearing up for another 10 days in Cozumel come 4/3 and trying to get my stuff gathered up and ready.

Well I can't say much about the Tusa, but the Oceanic is very solid and reliable, with great performance too. I know a couple people who have used to setup on ice dives with no worries, and other that use it for deco regs in the cold waters up here in Canada. Plus Oceanic's customer service kick's butt!

Yeah, I saw that post on my search which initially had me leaning towards the Tusa. Mk16 is a non swivel version of my Mk18 which has worked well for me. But my LDS said they seem to see more of the Tusa's come back and essentially none of the Oceanic's. I do trust my LDS, straight shooter that doesn't push for a sale and has been around for quite a while (actually worked at the shop I got certified at back in the 80's and where I bought the TR-200's).
