SUBWAY WATERSPORTS
Okay, first I must apologize for not having the video edited yet! I got back and work went nuts so I haven't had much time to "play".
SUBWAY WATERSPORTS: 10
Diving schedules was perfect for us. Plenty of diving and spread out just enough that you don't get smoked. If you are diving Nitrox, which we were, they want you at the boat around 8:15am so you can analyze tanks. All of your gear will be setup and ready to go on the boat. Leave the dock at 8:45 and usually in the water diving by 9:15. The dives ran from 45-60 minutes depending on air. We ended dives when anyone was around that magical 500 psi mark. After the first dive you are helped onto the boat, given fresh pineapple, water, and off to the next dive site. If someone only wanted to do the first dive, then they would go back to the resort long enough to drop them off and allow everyone to grab a cold soda or powerade. Second dive would be like the first....hit the spot and get in the water. You would be delivered back to the resort in time for lunch and a short siesta. Back on the boat and launching by 1:45pm. Back in the water by 2:15 or 2:30. Another hour dive then back to the resort. Every time you got out of the water you were offered fresh fruit and water. The crew would change your tanks and make sure everything was good to go for the next dive. Once at the resort you would take your personal gear (mask, fins, wetsuit) with you back to you room, or hang it in your locker. Your BCD would be taken off the boat and cleaned then stored in your locker for you.
UPON ARRIVAL/BRIEFING: 9
Darin gave us a tour of the shop, the boats, and assigned us our personal lockers for our gear while diving with them. We then filled out all of the required paperwork, gave them our certification and Nitrox cards to copy for their records and stowed our gear. This is the last time you will touch your BC/Reg until you leave (except for diving of course). Darin then took us out on the deck and gave us a thorough briefing on the operation, diver expectations, explained the policies for the Roatan Marine Park and asked us to donate $10 per diver to help support the Park. We were then asked what we wanted to see this trip and if we had any special requests. They will do everything in their power to help you find what you want to see. We did ask to dive the South Side to see Seahorses, but with schedules and other activities we didn’t get it done this trip.
DIVE SITES 9
The following is a list of the sites we dove while there. We have ranked each of them from 1-5 as it is on Divelog. But, please understand we are ranking them in comparison to each other, not against other destinations. We loved every dive we did. Some had larger fish and some were more coral/sponge oriented. All were great, but some were just a bit better than others.

Yes, I know it’s a 1-10 scale, but these guys deserve an 11. We felt like family while we were there. We were addressed by first name, engaged often to ensure our needs were being met, and we were never crowded on the boats. Osman was our Divemaster and he LOVES to take people diving. He pointed out stuff that I would have blown right past. Safety was their #1 priority and we felt like we were in good hands on every dive. But they didn’t suffocate you and make you feel like you were being herded around. They gave you the freedom to explore and if you wandered off SOMEONE was always there in the background making sure you were alright.
From the second you walk in the front door you are treated like royalty. I can’t say enough good things about Subway. I will go back…….hopefully every year. Even if we stay at a different resort (really want to check out Coco View) I will make a point to dive at least one day with Subway Watersports.
I will post up pics later and videos on another thread when I get time.
