i recently purchased a aeris xr2 wrist computer, after i finish diving the fly countdown timmer stays on for 24 hours!! is there a way to turn it off to save battery power???:idk:

you can turn it off but it will delete all of the dives you have stored on it.

If it works like the older Atmos 2 etc., then no. Doubt it uses a lot of battery power just running a simple countdown timer, though.
You got that right. The battery in my XR2 has been doing OK so far. I have close to 100 dives on this battery so far. The battery is less than $5.00 at Walmart, and easy to change in the XR2. I'd buy one if the battery indicator on the computer starts to show wear, and throw it in my dive pack to have in case the one in the computer dies.

It's a CR2450 Lithium, 3 volt. Walmart has them with the rest of the batteries. They come in a bubble sleeve, about the size of a business card.

No, the point of the countdown is to let you know when the computer thinks you are safe to fly.

Thanks Nemrod! You just pointed out how easy it is to forget or overlook the so obvious purpose of the countdown, and it shows how easily safety can be sidelined for something as trivial as battery life. :)
