Hello!

After reading so many amazing trip reports here, I’ve decided to book a Tubbataha LOB.

I’m currently deciding between two dates: early April (April 5th) or late April (April 24th).

I understand that late April is generally considered slightly better. My question is: how significant is the difference between these two periods?

April 5th fits much better into my schedule, but I’d love to maximize my chances of encountering the "big stuff."

Thank you all in advance for your insights!

Best regards,

No one can guarantee anything in nature.
If I were you I would pick the date that suits me best ie. 5th Apr for you.

Hi! Thank you for your reply!

I understand that nothing in nature is guaranteed. My question is more about the potential impact of the three-week difference between April 5th and April 24th.

Do these weeks significantly change the chances of encountering the "big stuff," or is the difference negligible during this time of the season? I saw a few people saying they prefer mid April to mid May...

I appreciate any additional insights you might have.

The Marine Park is opened from mid Mar to mid June and weather is the deciding factor.

I had experienced typhoon in the beginning of May and as late as 26th Dec in Philippines.
Late April may be better with the weather but who can predict weather accurately nowadays.

Have a nice trip.
