My husband and I are planning our honeymoon (a couple months after our wedding). We are looking for awesome diving w/lots of big stuff, a beach bungalow, relaxation and rum drinks in coconuts. I would love to go to Fakarava and Rangiroa. Tikehau and Manihi have also been recommended, albeit by a non-diver. We can take 10 days max including travel time (12 hrs to Papeete if we get a direct flight from NYC). We're in the process of buying a house so we can't stay at the most expensive resorts.
Here are my questions:
1. If we have to pick one -Fakarava or Rangiroa? Or will we regret not diving both?
2. Any input on Tikehau and Manihi?
3. Resorts: Raimiti was recommended on Fakarava and Novotel on Rangiroa -anyone stayed at either? Both are supposed to be more reasonably priced.
4. Who to dive with? I've heard of Top Dive and Fakarava Diving Center. We usually like smaller boats w/fewer people. But as mentioned $ is a consideration.
Any input would be super helpful. THANK YOU!

in fakarava make sure you have a few days to stay at the small resort (4 bungalows?!?) at the south pass, the south pass is by far the best dive in all of French Polynesia and one of my faves anywhere in the world. (i can't remember the name of it but you can find it on the tahiti tourism website)

for the short time you have i would skip tikehau and manihi. 3 days would be enough at Rangi, Top Dive is a good operation to go with. 3 days in North Fakarava and 3 days in the south would be perfect
