Off to Truk (Chuuk) shortly. As I come from Europe where tipping is not the norm (particularly on Dive boats) I'd like some guidance on what is seen as sensible.

I've been to the Carribean on Day Bats where I usually tip $5 to $10 per tank. In Egypt I tip $10 a day to the dive guide and the same to the boat crew.

Where I've tipped in Europe it has ranged from E5 a tank to leaving the dive guide with (Delayed) Surface Marker Bouy (or in one noticable case - a new swimming costume for the girl Dive Guide!).

The number I hear/see as sort of a standard is 10-15%.

Unless you are Australian... we are notoriously cheap tippers :D
