Truck Rental Curacao

Going to Curacao in June...I am having trouble finding a Rental Car Agency that rents trucks. I don't want to stink up a car with dive gear Any suggestions?

Your not going t find the double cab pickups like in Bonaire. There are pickups in Curacao but not as many. The car trunks on the right car are ample enough for 4 tanks and gear.

I would second billmosel. I was in Curacao two months ago and a car was just fine. I would advise taking your gear out of the car at night for security. If you are going to rent a car I would head to Cas Abao Beach for some diving. JJ does an amazing dive to Mushroom Forest and The Cave from a Zodiac and the prices are great.

Take a hunk of thin tarp/drop cloth and you'll be fine.

I have never had anything but a 4 door pickup on Curacao. I haven't rented from them, but Budget lists 4 door pickups as available on Curacao. We often drive around with 4 people with 4 sets of gear and 8 tanks in the truck. I am not sure how that would fit in a typical Curacao rental car. For just two people you would probably be fine.

Don't leave anything unattended in the car or truck.

Both Budget and Hertz franchisees on Curacao offer pickup trucks for rent.

I rented once from the local Budget franchisee (never again, no truck reserved when we arrived, got a Rav4 all stinky for them by the end of the trip instead.

I've rented twice from local Hertz franchisee and would happily do the same on any future trips to Curacao. Zero hassles, no mechanical problems, good tread on tires, etc.

Depending on where you are staying... Allwest Apartments and Diving which is located in Westpunt rents trucks as long as you are staying with them.

I rented a great Toyota double cab truck from Budget on Curacao in August of 2009.

No problems from them.

I am going to rent from Hertz since I have a coupon. Thanks for all the great suggestions! I wish I did need a moving truck!
