I'm a Fish!
I saw the movie today. I really enjoyed it.
On a scale 1 to 10... 10 being the highest.. I give it a 7.

well, it's got Brad Pitt prancing around in a skirt... i bet that counts for 6.5 out of
those 7 points!!

:eyebrow:

Yeah..I'd say watching men fight in skirts did make the movie worth seeing. :)

For a classic, the oldest (32 centuries) epic in Western History if not in the entire world, it was an extremely good cinematic portrayal. I thought it was a 10. What movies have ever been better? Shindlers List maybe? Troy was certainly better than Lord Of The Ring-kie-dinks.

I found the movie Troy to be quite accurate, except for a few historical inconsistencies, such as the deaths of Menelaus and Agamemnon at Troy -- they returned to Greece in the Illiad. And Helen returned with them. And Ajax the giant died after Achilles not before him like in the movie.

Too bad there were no scuba scenes in the cinematography, like there were in Master And Commander and in Pirates Of The Caribbean.

Even so, two thumbs up, from me anyway.

Since I saw it with my son, who studied quite a bit of Greek mythology, think I enjoyed the movie more then people that wouldn't have know that background of the characters.

Movies that are a 10 for me

Return of the King
Braveheart
Shawshank
Forrest Gump
Green Mile
Rudy

Troy was very good..but still a little Hollywood for me.

Nice list, we have similar tastes..

You forgot The Sixth Sense and Road to Perdition

Honorable mention to Goodfellas, L.A. Confidential, and Dances with Wolves.. :D

If I wasn't afraid I would get tomatoes throw at me, I would have added Back to the Future #1 to the list.
I like Dances with Wolves..the best from your added list.
:)
