My brother-in-law took his BC to the Bahamas and they took his BC apart in customs, and I mean took every thing apart. He had a heck of a time getting it back ready for his diving there. Have any of you had this problem?

That info is a first for me. I can definately tell when they go through my dive gear, but I never had them take anything apart. They even leave a document that says they inspected the bag. Even my smb was never unrolled. How did they disassemble the BC? I don't think you can take mine apart without wrecking something like seals and connectors. Man, that would be a real bummer to get to you destination with an unusable BC!

Hey B2- how was your trip?

I flew to Hawaii and I was concerned about a couple things- they threw it through the big xray machine and I never heard another word- I actually went through 4 seperate airport check ins with my dive bag within a month. That's all domestic though.

Man...that is a bit scarry.... we are flying to Jamaica in a couple weeks... I hope they don't do that to me!!!! :shakehead

I always print out the TSA regulations and put them in my bag. It always is good practice, i've never had a problem! (knocks on wood)

That is a bit scary! Never had a problem, but have only flown to a handful of destinations. Where were you flying to when they did that?

next time dont fill the bladder with cocaine

my cousin and i were driving and got stopped by border patrol in arizona. they wanted us let a little air out of our tanks so the dog could smell it.

They took apart the inflator house and the dump valve. That was the problem they lost the seal for the dump valve. When he hit the water his BC would not hold its inflation. Futurity the dive operation had a good save-a-dive kit on the boat.
