Has anyone else only had problems equalizing at 42 feet. It's like I hit a brick wall, and sometimes can't get past it doing all the normal tricks. Any suggestions?

I find that the more dives I do the harder it gets... usually 1 is fine, but sometimes on dive 2 I might have an issue @ 30-40'. The best approach that I have found is flonase, motrin, sudafed or mucinex, sinus rinse the morning of. If I do have an issue, it's usually because I wasn't religious about the above routine.

Sorry, can't remember ever being 42' exactly, but it's always below 20' for sure.

Hi @Scoooter961

If's difficult for me to understand why you have so much trouble at a relatively deep depth. The relative pressure change is much greater at shallower depths, i.e., doubles at 33 feet, does not double again until 99 feet.

Fortunately, I have very little trouble equalizing, when I do, it is much shallower in the descent. Perhaps someone will be able to shed light on your problem(s)

I think mine has to do with the thermocline, but really who knows. I've gotten so used to my routine it's almost 2nd nature.
