In keeping with related music trivia re: the lyric, misunderstood or not.

How many know the song but the title is not correct?

For instance, Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog" is frequently called "Son of a *****".

Ue o Muite Arukoo/Sukiyaki by KYU SAKAMOTO
The title means "I look up when I walk." The English title was changed to Sukiyaki because it was easier for Americans to say and associate with Japan.
(Sukiyaki is actually food and has nothing to do with the song.)

I have also heard The Who's Baba O'Reilly called Teenage Wasteland many times.

I know of several people who thought the title of the Beach Boys' hit "Sloop John B" was "I Wanna Go Home".

There are so many...

A couple off the top of my pointed head:

* Deluge (real title) "Hey Now" (Crowded House)

* Escape (real title) "The Pina Colada Song" - this is funny as the artist and record company caved and added in the popular title to the tune's name

* Anything by Alice in Chains. You can never guess the title of one of their tunes :)

* Long View (real title) Green Day. I've heard this called "Motivation", "Smell Like 5#17" and all manner of other titles...

there are just so many...

"Rainy Day Women #12 & 35" aka "Everybody Must Get Stoned" (Bob Dylan)

Head East's "Never Been Any Reason" is frequently called "Save My Life"
