I'm planning on getting a Triple-L Aquarius. Because it's lightweight and the price is attractive. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I guess it means there's not much experience out there with this bc :D I've decided to bite the bullet and get one. It's on the way. The next problem would be getting the diving in.

I gave my neice one last year and she loves it. It has worked well for her

I saw your thread and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on these guys. I'm looking into getting one of their products. When I searched Triple-L I came up with this scubaL.com website are they the same? Are they safe? Do they charge rediculous amounts of shipping and handeling? Has anyone any experience with the maximus wing? Any opinions are valued.

Search Search Search. There is a ton of information about Triple_L and their products......

Hoosier's right; there's been a load of information about them and their products. My experience in summary, having three of their BCs in the family (Stratos); as well as two wetsuits, a dive bag, and some accessories:

Yes. They changed their name about a year ago. A lot (most?) of their products are still labelled Triple-L, which I like better anyway. The new labelling is supposed to be rather garish...

We haven't had extremely extensive diving with the BCs yet; one summer's worth in tropical salt and cold fresh water. Quality certainly seems to be very good; much better than you'd expect for the price. Solid hardware, very heavy-duty (and heavy!) nylon. I had a few quibbles with design details, like the elastic waist strap; but I fixed it myself.

Some people have had problems with their wetsuit quality (like zippers). I've only had two dives with my Triple-L wetsuit; the zippers aren't YKK, but they look very solid.

Shipping for the items they have in their warehouse in the U.S. (Chicago?) is very reasonable. They show stock level on their website. On the other hand, shipment of custom wetsuits from their factory in Vietnam is extremely expensive; but the total price is competitive.

The only thing you have to watch out for is their substantial re-stockage fee, if you return something for a reason that wasn't their fault. Where they draw that line is unclear -- if you measure carefully according to their size charts, and the item still doesn't fit, whose fault is it? It's a real risk.

Can't help you there, sorry.

This took a while mostly because I had my Aquarius sent to a friend's sister in the US then I had to wait for it to get couriered to the Philippines. Saved on money but not on time but another few months here and there didn't bother me.

It's very light and compact and solidly built. I tried it at the pool with an instructor to give me a refresher. It's been a while. And he liked it too. It surprised him that the BCD's carry bag was about the height and breadth and 1.5x the lengths of a loaf of bread (maybe it depends on the loaf). Very basic and uncomplicated. No pockets. No back plates or back supports, just the bladder. Its shoulder and waist straps had d-rings to assist in adjustments, the inflator was easy to use and handle.

Because it's a jacket type, it did squeeze my sides some but it was easily remedied by letting out some air. I still had no difficulty with staying upright on the surface. Or going horizontal underwater.

Though I've been certified for almost 3 years, I haven't dove very much so I still consider myself a novice. This BCD is certainly easy to deal with. I'll give it a dunking in the ocean this Saturday if my schedule goes well.
