I'm a Fish!
Turks & Caicos Explorer II, Turks and Caicos
Water Temp 80-84°F | Visibility 75-100ft

We dove North West Point where guests saw sharks, turtles, and dolphins. Divers enjoyed the Thunderdome for a night dive and saw a sleeping turtle, rays in the sand, lobsters, moray eels and an octopus. The next day at Eel Garden divers found beautiful scorpionfish as well as nurse sharks, reef sharks, and a huge grouper. At West Caicos, we dove Magic mushroom and found a nest of lobsters! There could have been 20 in one coral head! We also saw trigger fish, crabs, a huge turtle and a goldentail moray. At Spanish Anchor divers found a spotted drum, more turtles and guests saw an eagle ray. Moving over to French Cay we dove Double D for a dawn dive and saw the reef and nurse sharks finishing up their night of hunting. As divers were ascending for their safety stop a spotted eagle ray cruised by beneath them. We spent the afternoon and night at Rock n Roll and had action-packed dives with even more sightings of eagle rays, reef sharks circling and nurse sharks hunting around the divers. The last dive of the week was a success with more nurse sharks and a Seahorse at the Gspot! A week full of unique marine life!

Caribbean Explorer II, Saba and St Kitts
Water Temp 82-84°F | Visibility 40-100ft

This week we had an interesting mix of diving conditions. Visibility varied per site and sea life was abundant. In Saba we dove Torrens Point then Man O War Shoals where juvenile queen angelfish were using the bucket on the mooring line as a refuge. Divers then ventured into the abyss of dive site Third Encounter, rewarded with the unique structure reaching up from the depths surrounded by large schools of wrasse and scad. A heavy north swell in Saba provided some challenges, but mid-week this dissipated significantly and brought on much-improved conditions. Our final day of diving in Saba provided many more turtles and reef sharks. We mixed things up a little bit and did a very nice and easy drift dive from our Tent Reef mooring to Tent Wall. We then dove Paradise Reef and Anchors Aweigh at the north end of St Kitts. They had great vis, no current, and very pretty dives as was described. The good conditions held on for a couple of dives at Old Road Bay. At River Taw, divers spotted some interesting critters; beaded sea cucumbers, long-horned nudibranchs, decorator crabs, lobsters, octopi, and a few of the large resident green sea turtles with their remora sidekicks. A great way to end our week!
