Just returned from a short 3 night trip to Providenciales. United nonstop out of EWR. Booked this trip on Orbitz based upon a special with very good rates. Flight short and uneventful. Arrived at EWR 3 hours before and with TSA Precheck breezed through security. Clearing the airport in Provo was also a breeze. Landed around 1 PM and was checked in and on the beach by 2 PM.
Stayed an Sibonne on Grace Bay. Just what we were looking for small quiet resort right on the beach. The restaurant on site, Bay Bistro, was excellent. We had two dinners, two lunches and one breakfast at Bay Bistro. One dinner at Hemingways at the Sands next door. Also very good.
Dove with Diveprovo. This was my second trip to Provo and second time diving with Diveprovo. They are an excellent dive op, good boats, great crew and provide good service. They picked us up at our hotel and arrived on time to pick us up each time. I dove a two tank am at West Caicos. Diving was very good and weather excellent. I love the boat ride out to West Caicos. Turquoise water in many shades as far as the eye can see. I like Diveprovo, especially when solo. You buddy up with the guide. No forced insta buddy pairings. Once they see your skill/comfort level, you are given a lot of room and freedom to dive your dive as long as you are in sight of the guide while on the wall and more so in the shallows back in sight of the boat. The next day my wife and I dove the 1 tank pm dive out on Grace Bay. Another great dive. I enjoy the spur and grove formations and we spotted sharks, turtles and a nice assortment of tropicals. A very fishy dive. Reminded me of Bonaire. Water temps hit 84!
Providenciales was a nice choice for us. It is a nice choice if you want some beach time as well as some dives and/or if traveling with someone who does not dive but enjoys time on a beautiful white sand beach.
