We dove with Clive in September 2008 for 8 dives. I have to rave about how great it was! I am a beginner diver and my husband is more experienced and Clive catered to both a beginner diver's and a more advanced diver's needs. Clive picked us up promptly each dive day at 8:30 am in a nice air conditioned van and took us to his boat in the Renaissance Marina. We took off everyday for the dive sites from there. The boat is small and Clive only takes out 7 divers per dive trip, so definitely not a cattle boat which we loved. There were less then 7 divers and the one day it was only me and my husband which was great, not crowded at all. The great thing about diving with Clive is he allowed everyone to dive to their ability. I suck through my air very fast and my husband was still able to stay down as long as he liked until he had to come up due to air or his computer. My husband loved this! He had dove other places with other dive operators before that made you surface after 40 minutes or when your buddy had to surface. Clive does not limit your bottom time like other dive shops do in Aruba and you can stay down as long as you are able to which was great. Most dives we stayed down well over an hour (well except for me because I suck through air fast :) ). Clive had water and juice on the boat which was great. My husband also got a headache and he had advil to give him which was very nice. The dive sites themselves were very nice, we were impressed with the diving Aruba had to offer. Our first dive day we dove the Blue reef, Debbie 2 Wreck, and the Antilla, very impressive. We loved the Antilla wreck and were even able to penetrate the wreck with Clive which was very cool. This was my husband's favorite dive, he loved the wreck. We also saw a turtle and a huge green eel. The next dive day we dove the Jane Sea Wreck and the Barcadera and Kantil reefs. This was my favorite dive. The reef was healthy and beautiful and such a treat to see. I did get seasick on the boat quite a few times this day because I get motion sickness easily and the water was a little choppy. I took my motion sickness pills too late so this was my fault. So the next day I took a break from diving and my husband dove the Sonesta airplanes and the Sponge Reef. He said there was some current this day but it was a great dive and he was very impressed with the reef. The last diving day we dove the Harbour Reef and Pilot Boat wreck. Again we had a great time and saw beautiful schools of fish, another giant green eel, an octopus, etc. I highly recommend diving with Clive and know when we return to Aruba we will definitely dive with him again! He is a great guy, very knowledgeable about the dive sites, and he even offered me tips on how to improve my breathing so that I could stay underwater longer.

scubaduba1979,
welcome to this board.
thank you for y'alls trip report.
i dove with clive once and your observations were the same as mine.
i think a diver appreciates the reefs in aruba more while diving with clive.
he tends to show the best the island has to offer.
regards,

I just got back from Aruba last night.

I wound up doing 2 dive with Clive. He picked us up promptly and we had a wonderful time. His son was on Fall Break so he had a helper on the boat with him the day we dove. There were 7 divers but it was not at all crowded. We were able to dive our own profile and were not rushed. I do think the surface interval was cut a bit short, but it had started to rain and there was no cover on the boat so in we went. I would highly recommend Clive he is awesome!

Just back from another trip to Aruba. I'm happy to say that I've found a lifelong friend in Clive Paula.
Real salt of the earth person.

What day did you dive with Clive? We dove with him Monday the 6th:D

David is headed to Aruba for 3 days of windsurfing. Unfortunately the wind forecast doesn't look very promising. He's renting a mountain bike but might also want to get in a dive or two. Would anyone have a contact number for Clive? Thanks, Sunshine

I've got 10 dives booked with Clive Dec 18-23. I can hardly wait. This will be my 3rd trip diving with Clive.
