i was a guest on the m/v carribean explorer 1 the week of 7-16-05.
my buddy al from sc met me at the airport in georgetown.
there was a large group from ohio that were also guest.
the crew was from uk, canada, south africa and australia.

this was my friend's first liveaboard and he took to it like a duck to water.
we had the choice of diving 4 times a day plus 1 night dive each evening.
they also offered 2 dives very early friday morning for those divers flying out saturday afternoon.

everyone but al and i dove nitrox.
however al took the nitrox certification class that was offered.
he and i both took the sdi solo certification class also.
even though we both passed we chose to remain a buddy team.

we dove long island, conception island and san salvador.
it appeared the better diving was below 50 ft.
here the reef and walls seemed to have more colour and variety.
more fish, lobster, eels, crabs, rays, turtles and sharks were seen here as well.

i got to see my very first hammerhead on this trip.
cleaning stations were seen with groupers as customers.
the turtles were not shy and posed for the photographers.
even the lobsters came out during the day walking about.

the crew worked together well as a team keeping the guest happy.
the cabins were clean and tidy with chocolate on your pillow at turn down.
the food was well prepared, varied and ample.
thursday night was a thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings.

all in all it was a pleasant holiday and i enjoyed the opportunity to dive.

Glad you had a great time. Sure wish my job was predictable enough to do a liveaboard. The vacation I have scheduled now is iffy at best !!

Any pics????
