I am a 69 year-old lifelong pool lap swimmer, and recently purchased a Tribord full-face dive mask. Great for distance swimming as I can concentrate on the exercise without turning my head or raising my head above water. Very zen. The problem I am having is that the mask and snorkel work fine, but when I get out of the pool the head straps are turning brown at the edges and some brown substance (mold) seems to be forming inside the mask and under the silicon structure of the faceplate. I have tried using soap to wash the straps after every swim and that has helped, but the good does not dissipate inside. I fear using bleach, as I have heard that can be harmful to silicon. Has anyone dealt with this experience? How best to maintain an excellent devise?
