i am looking for suggestions for a tray and arm set-up for the PT-030 with a SEA&SEA strobe. specifically the YS-110. i am going use the hot-shoe to bulk head connector(not sure which one at this point). the other thing is the lens's i want to add to the camera. i am planning on adding a macro and WAL to my set-up. my question is this, how do you keep this stuff secure, while diving, and at the time of making a lens change? do you mount the lens's to small leash's to keep from dropping them? i am sure that this question will play some part in my tray/arm decision. in the mean time, i will continue to look around and see what i can come up with on my own. thanks in advance for any suggestions that may be posted.

We use ULCS trays and arms. They work great and work with the INON AD adapter for the PT-030 which will allow you to use wet mount AD style Inon lenses. Securing the lenses is easy with the INON AD lense holder which will screw onto a ULCS arm.

For safety if you are worried about fumbling a lense and dropping it over the wall, we have put a leash around the lense and tied it to the tray.. This is an optional thing that is easy to remove if there is a bottom to your dive (we only use it on wall dives).

thanks Rich. as a matter of fact, i'm headin' to Maui in July and one of our dives we are thinking of doing is the back wall of the Molikini crater. so yes, there is some concern on my part about dropping lens's. thanks much for the response. i will look into these arms and see what i can come up with.

This is the Inon lens holder. It attaches to an ULCS arm. I used mine to hold a 67mm URPro lens and a macro lense. The WAL could also attach (anything with a 67mm thread). I would call this a must have if you are using ULCS arms and wetmount lenses.

I could make you a deal on a gently used one, now that I no longer have my Olympus camera or Inon lense. I also happen to have an extra UR Pro filter. Drop a PM.

The back side of Molokini is a decent dive. I have done it several times with Ed Robinsons. The last time on the inside, there was a yearling whale swimming with some of the divers (in Dec-Jan).

Ultralite makes a great product. I use their arms for my strobes. Until recently, I have not been able to use their quick release handles I really coveted. they did not make a tray that fit the medium sized Ike housing (5060). I met with them at DEMA and explained my problem. They helped me set up a reasonable tray and handles for my housing and arms. The tray was a little large, but OK. They contacted me later and told me that they had designed a new tray for that size housing. They asked me to put it through the wringer on my month in Indonesia. I just returned and can report that it was perfect. I was able to slide the housing close to the right handle, allowing me to handle the rig with one hand. Really helpful in the big currents in Raja Ampat. I haven't had time to send them a report, yet, so I don't now how available the tray is yet.
It'll be nice to shelve that heavy Ike tray with the "backwards" quick release handles.

David...you got a PM........thanks

I second the ULCS arms, and passive lens caddy on the arms..........sweet arrangement. Once you try a set-up, you'll wonder why you didn't get it sooner.

one ULCS and YS-110 coming my way via Reef Photo...thanks everyone for the feedback on tray/arm set-ups. Ryan at Reef Photo set me up with a really good deal.
