I have decided on a Transpac and wonder if the Rec Wings would be too large (50lbs) for single tanks or if I should go with the Travel Wings (30lbs)? Is the Rec Wing recommended as a good all-rounder for single and doubles? I know Dive-Rite lists both as single and double capable, but I wonder if someone has some hands-on experience?

The Transpac offers me comfort and the best off both worlds between a Zeagle and the BP/W setup. Should I choose to try a BP, I just get the plate and harness and I am done.

Thanks.

I use travel wings with singles, even big ones (Steel 104's).
I use Rec wings with light doubles (up to 85's).
You can use Rec wings with singles; there are those who do. I tried 'em and didn't like it.
I have not tried the Trek wings.

i´ve dived all DR air cells except the new venturewing ( in fact i just posted a thread here looking for some info) and i can tell you that i strongly recommend you a backplate instead the transpac. But If you want to go ahead with it i think the combo transpac/travel wings is the best for singles. The main advantages above a bigger (dual purpose) one is that the air inside have all the freedom to move around, based in the fact that the cell is made with a circular design. This important fact makes easier the correct balance....and the small size is great and you will became VERY streamlined with a good bouyancy. Minimalist in singles is after test a lot of configs the best wat to follow. I´m disagree with these gays (ALL DIR) about the jacket BC for singles...I think they are a VERY good choice as well and the best considering the te ratio profit/cost.....avoid these silly things like HUB are strongly overpriced as well as the HALCYON BCS.....the last being good but TOO expensive...

i hope this help you...Will:wacko:
