Im still less than 20 dives. a recreational diver and learning

Im curious about the Transpac. iv seen the video that puts weights on the sides.. is there a way to trim weights?

I've been using a seaquest Balance Bc. It has trim pockets on the upper back.

looking at store dummies with the transpac, I noticed that the front is very clean. no pockets or snags.

can I use this for recreational diving? how about the trim pockets?
Im in the philippines so I use very little weights bout 7.5 lbs with a 0.5mm wetsuit.
what wing would you guys suggest?

You can add trim weight anywhere on the webbing. It would be a fine setup for recreational diving, you need a fairly small wing with that setup, probably the small travel wing would be more than enough.

I have seen someone put weight on their tank bands as well.

ok... so how do you put trim weights?? i onlyl see the 16 lbs weight pocket that's to be attached at the waist level.

id prefer pockets over weights at tank bands.

Why don't you try it out first and then see if you would even need trim weight? If you do, then you can use the generic pocket to put the trim weight on the tank strap. It's a lot more convenient than putting weight elsewhere on the harness. I have the old Dive Rite trim weights that look like ankle weights. They were designed to attach to the D-rings running along the side of the soft backplate. They work great but they are also attached via quick links, so everytime I want to take them off, I have to unscrew the quick links and wiggle them out. It's a pain so I leave the trim weight there and my BC is 4-lbs heavier when it doesn't need to be. My dive buddy with the Transpac and trim weight pouch on the tank strap...he simply takes the weight out and now his Transpac is nice and light.

You tell me which way is better.

i've actually tried the transpac at the Dive shop =) like the fit =)

I probably won't be doing very deep dives yet. but judging with what i have... im a fairly bouyant person . anyway i'll try it out
