It was a true privilege and honor to get trained by Trace Malinowski today. Over the years I’ve had lots of instructors teaching me many things and learned quite a bit from them. Some of the ones I’ve had were mediocre at best. It happens as not everyone can really teach (some really don’t know how, some do it to inflate their egos and some ….).

Trace was the opposite. He is a genius in the water. He has unlimited enthusiasm which permeates into the student. His approach and teaching methodology are incredible. He inspires his students the desire to learn by how he conducts the class. This means respecting the student(s), treating them with dignity and decorum.

I am still at awe and my brain is processing all the little things he did to make today’s teaching a truly unbelievable experience which I will never forget.

Thank you Trace. You are unbelievable & magnificent teacher and an incredible diver.

Trace is unquestionably one of the outstanding underwater instructors in the US and possibly the world.

You are indeed fortunate to have had him as an instructor

Couldn't agree more.

Actually not a course; so kind of getting coached. I needed help with some of my diving techniques. Self coaching is ok but has its limits and will take time. As soon I found out his availabilty I was hooked. Didn't take me long after the start to figure out that I am going to have a blast learning.

Again, I am sure there are great instructors out there and I've had some myself. But my experience as ultra fantastic.

An instructor who enriches a student to yearn more is one I always salute.
I don't live near any caves or caverns but I might look into taking an intro to cave course with him just to get more instruction becoming a better diver. Very humbling.

... the unlimited enthusiasm is because @Trace Malinowski forgot he became an adult ...

who said it was negative? I'd argue it is incredibly positive and something that all of the good instructors I know strive for. I'm also quite guilty of it as well. The students who see the instructors during their semester long courses as serious individuals see the switch throw when we get to open water and they all think we are bonkers
