Occupational Summary:
This position conducts DANs existing training programs and serves as the intermediary between DAN and the more than 3,500 independent instructors and Instructor Trainers in the field who conduct these courses. This involves supporting these instructors in the field when they have questions about the proper way to conduct a class and training more instructor trainers to train more instructors who teach more divers appropriate first aid in a diving emergency.

Work Performed:
Responsibilities include:
Conducting Instructor Trainer-level programs for all DAN courses including
o Complete Instructor Trainer Workshops
o Course specific Instructor Trainer Workshops for individual DAN Training Programs
Providing phone coverage to answer questions from DAN Instructors and Instructor Trainers regarding teaching status and course issues
Assisting with Instructor paperwork processing, data entry and fulfillment
Corresponding with Instructors and Instructor Trainers to complete certification requirements
Corresponding with DAN Instructors and Instructor Trainers regarding quality assurance issues
Represent the Diver's Alert Network at various national, regional and local meetings and seminars. Conduct DAN Training programs for both internal and external audiences.
Coordinate and schedule DAN Training Programs for external audiences throughout the country.
Conduct tours of DAN as directed.
Participate in the compilation, verification and consolidation of all appropriate information pertaining to DAN Training programs for in-house use in responding to telephone and written requests.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Maintain the DAN Training Equipment Locker and equipment used in the Rental Program used to support DAN Instructor Trainers and Instructors in their teaching efforts.
Prerequisites:
Excellent time-management skills
Ability to work within deadlines
Scuba Diving Instructor Trainer or Course Director preferred
Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts, English or Business Administration preferred
Familiarity with scuba diving and medical terminology
Minimum two years in the recreational diving industry preferred
EMT/DMT Preferred
Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills preferred
Software/Computer Expertise:
Microsoft Office including MS Word, Outlook, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, & MS Access
iMIS database experience preferred
