I am looking toss my SS1 and transition over to a bungeed octo. Will be taking Advanced Nitrox & Deco in about 7 months and want to get used to my gear config. ASAP.

I am looking to purchase another Legend LX ACD, since I already have one and use the Oxycheq reg for a stage bottle. What type of Aqua Lund second should I get or should I just get another Legend LX? They are just so expensive I was hoping to get something slightly cheaper that will still perform.

Anyone with experience diving an Aqua Lung octo your opinion will be greatly appreciated.
 
Well If I had to recommend a way to go It would be to purchase a Titan LX 2nd stage to use, and here is why.

It is bullet proof and breathes almost as good as the Legend. It has a purge cover that can be removed without tools and will not tear easily.

careful with the Legend LX the silver medallion in the center will tear the cover as it ages. While the first stage is rugged and functions flawlessly the purge cover on the Legend LX is sub-par and not up to standards. I have four on my bench right now. I have sent a complaint to Aqualung. Not the best out of them and I expect more.

Stay away from the LPO it is not for serious use. The legend Octo works well and would be a good choice but for the money the titan LX is a better buy.

Keep the SS1 as a third. If nothing else it makes it easy to breath the bag in an all out emergency.
 
Interesting about the Legend LX second. I did not know that. I may rethink now and not use these regs once I begin to transition. Guess I am back to the drawing board. Well I at least I have some time.

Hold on.....right now I am not selling the SS1. I simply am not going to use it. If I sell it I will post it in the Classifieds.
