Its the same way for me with Digital SLRs, I have no problem spending hundreds to thousands on the equipment, but the 12$ for the stupid plastic part that could be made out of tupperwear makes me hold off.......

Top Dawg II port cap, 15$, SH 12+ = total 27 bucks for a piece of plastic.

anyone have any other cheaper but equally effective ideas for protecting the front glass?
