I know more than a few instructors with these things... if they can hack it, I suppose its okay.
 
ah....seems like there was an article in dive training recently about stuff like this. Does it interfere with the mouthpiece?
 
i've got a very good friend who dives with piercings in his tongue, nose, eyebrow and some regions which wouldn't be prudent to list in the forum.

and he's an instructor.. :P

I guess that would depend on how big that ball is on the end of the stud.
 
I've never had any problems with mine.
 
my best friend has his tongue pierced and he teaches and dives regularly!
