Congratulations and welcome to the rest of your life! :D

If you are like most members here, from this momemt forward, most of your thoughts will revolve around diving and diving related activities.

Some of your most memorable friends will be dive buddies you have yet to meet.

Some of your most thrilling moments will happen in places you have yet to visit.

You will find out that the C-card is only the beginning. And as you improve your skills through education, you will realize that how there's so much more to learn. At 20 dives, you will realize how little you knew when you first got your card. At 50 dives you will realize how little you knew at 20, at 100 dives, well, it continues as much as you'll allow it.

Diving involves a good level skill, and the only way to improve skill is through good practice.

Happy and Healthy Diving! Welcome aboard!

Thanks man.. i live on a pensula so theres water all around me .. so everywhere i go i see water!! Ill be doing alot of diving in the gulf!

While I'm really not trying to be a wet blanket, do you realize that you're only trained and certified for diving in Open Water?

Open Water is water where at any point during the dive you can ascend directly to the surface with no overhead obstructions.

I've never seen this particular dive site, but if it's bigger underwater than it is at the surface and contains caves, it would be possible for you to have a situation where you have a problem that you weren't trained to handle handle underwater, and at the same time, be unable to surface.

:frown11: Ok so the last class was awesome!.. we did 60 ft. and it was great.. just look up blue grotto on the link i gave you and you can see all the pics of the place..

SOO.. instructors like congradulations guys yous passed and handed out everyone their cards!. When she got to me she asked "hey did you ever complete the 60ft underwater swim in 1 breath?" and i said well i made it about 50 ft you saw it. she says "Sory i cant give you your card until you come to the pool and do the 60Ft underwater swim with one breath in front of anyone who works at the dive shop"

So everyone got their cards but me. Thought she was not serious about the 10 ft i missed.. but i guess she was.. She says "your a certified scuba diver BUT i cant give you your card until you ocmplete the swim".. SO im cardless and have to just keep trying to make the underwater swim. Whatever.

It is not a cave! It has a cavern in it, but it's more like a big overhang until about 60 feet in depth. At about 60' it gets smaller and deeper, however it's lined all the way to the bottom. This is one of few caverns that they allow openwater divers to dive in.

You do enter overhead cover at BG and it does have a continuous line in around and back out and it does get dark :> Ginnie Springs head spring is a great "cavern" dive as well that only requires an OW cert it's also $20 cheaper than BG.
