Mostly, work for a shop and they will get you certed to work on the gear they service, if they use you as a tech. Outside of that there are few avenues to get a certed. Other option that many use is, if you are mechanically inclined, is get the regulator repair book from airspeed press. I service my own regs (9) and all of my first stages. Never had any problems.
