Im looking to buy my first set of gear, would this be a good primary reg. for Great Lakes diving?
Thanks,
Jason

If anybody can suggest another regulator that would be good for this environment, feel free.

I have this same reg... I live in the Great Lakes area myself and have had this reg for going on 3 seasons now... its been down to 130' twice and as cold as 39 degrees.

I have had Zero trouble with it.

The Titan is a good regulator. A solid performer. the Supreme option adds the "sealed first stage" with is a plus for the colder Great Lakes waters.

While I think this is a good median regulator... I think you can get a better regulator for the money...

for example, the Titan LX Supreme is $470 according to AL 09 Buyers Guide

for $290, you can get a Edge HOG that is a better regulator, better performer, cold water sealed first stage, etc...

see HOG D1 Cold Water Regulator Set - HOG Environmentally Sealed Regulator - HOG Technical Regulators

to me it's a no brainer...

I have used my Apeks DS4/ATX50 below 39F and no issues, I am sure they perform identical to the HOG regulators. They are better at cold water than me so I switched to a better warm water breather :)
