Hi all, I'm in the middle of amassing my equipment and planning a trip to Koh Tao Thailand to do my PADI divemaster and instructor training.

I am really looking for some advice on what to do to set myself apart from the pack and really maximize my chances of getting employment as an Instructor after I have finished training.

I would prefer to stay in Asia but am willing to set up pretty much anywhere. I am pretty sure I am going to do the Master Scuba Diver Trainer training as well as the IDC which involves gaining 5 specialization instructor qualifications. Is there anything else I should consider?

Also how have you successful instructors found work? I've heard spamming your CV to dive shops is definitely not the way forward. Is it all about networking while you are out there or is it possible online?

All comments welcome, and HELLO!!

Welcome to the Scubaboard! Good luck with your IDC....Networking is a good start...Remember your reputation is everything! :D
