Hello

I have heard from some of you before on this but would love to hear from all. What is the ultimate multi purpose lens to take to the ends of the world on a dive trip? For me its something with excellent macro capability but that can do a decent job of catching that cruising grey reef shark when it goes by. Also it needs to be good topside as there is plenty to capture there too.

Forum users here are fans of the Sigma 17-70mm Macro lens for just that reason but are there comparible lenses out there, forgetting about price? (I'm trying to apply the buy once, buy right philosophy).

Looking forward to reading your comments.

Canon 60-MM Macro lens can go from two inches too infinity, It is one of my favorite lenses!

This lens works great for any Macro shot to a long distance shot just as well though it is not a wide-angle it is a great all-around lens!

Just my 2 cents worth as I love all of my lenses!

I only use two lenses. 10-22 and the 60mm macro. With that camera (which is what I use) I would hate to travel the world with only one of them. If you are going that far...take two!

With the aquatica housing all you really need are two ports (one of the domes and a flat port) and a spacer for those two lenses. I am fortunate to live where I take pictures, so I don't move around much anymore. If I did however, I would carry both ports and both lenses for sure. They switch out extremely easy.
