Threading on the Zeagle and the Atomic match?

Both Zeagle and Atomic have started sellling the spin on inflator/ inflator regs things. Do the threads match?

This is maybe just a question for someone who has both, since I want a trip report, not a guess. (I'll trade two rebuilt "K" inflator for a Zeagle Inflator to find out if no one knows)

I can tell you with certainty that the Zeagle Bx Power Inflator will thread on to the coupler that comes with the Atomic SS1. I use the SS1, but when I store my wing I put the Bx inflater on to keep the bladder a little inflated and store the SS1 with the regs.

I don't know what you're planning, but keep in mind that the LP hose psi rating and QD attachment are completely different for an inflater/octo setup than they are for just an inflater. The QD Attachment that comes on the LP hose for just an inflater will not work on an integrated unit and vice-versa. So, if you're planning to switch back and forth between a SS1 or Octo-Z to Bx inflater only, then you'll have to switch the LP hose as well. If you just want to use Atomic couplers to put a Bx inflater on other than a standard 1" corrugated hose (I believe the coupler male ends on the 3 different size couplers that come with the SS1 are 1/2", 3/4", and 1"), then good-to-go. It will work just fine.

Can I get in on this? I just bought a Miflex hose and quick coupler to connect my 1st stage to my OctoZ. I had to get a 1st stage hose and a special quick coupler from Zeagle to accomplish this. Do I have a restriction (flow rate) issue since this is now attached to an OctoZ rather than a traditional 2nd stage? Doesn't seem to make sense that this would be a problem (air flow), but I did notice the larger inside diameter on the original hose compared to the MiFlex style, which looks like any other 2nd stage hose in diameter of the valve. Thanks-

Their LP hose would not couple with the Zeagle connection on the OctoZ- it was too small. The restriction that makes a LP BC hose not appropriate for an alternate inflator reg is in the end of the BC inflator hose (It's a tire inflator valve). The adaptor that turns an LP hose into a Zeagle hose (or an Air 2 hose, or an inflator) is appropriate for the thing it mates with both in connection type and flow.

What I am thinking about doing is changing the bit the hose connects to on the inflator to make it match the Atomic. SO that when I am diving intro divers they won't have the alternate inflator reg to confuse them.

If I'm reading this correctly something is wrong. Zeagle sells a quick adapter to do what beanojones wants to do. That is, to allow for a standard inflater to be used on a octo/inflater hose QD attachment. But it sounds like you bought a Miflex BC inflater hose to use with an Octo-Z. Is this the case? Or did you buy a Miflex regulator hose that comes without a QD attachment?

I'm not positive on this, but I believe that while the male attachment on a inflater is just screwed in, I believe the male end on the SS1 (and other octo/inflaters I've seen) is molded in. So replacing one on a inflater might be a little difficult.

Zeagle does sell an adapter that allows a normal inflater to be used with the octo/inflater QD attachment, but there may be a minor problem. While a Zeagle QD attachment (octo/inflater type) will work with an SS1, the Atomic QD attachment does not work on an Octo-Z. So you may have to switch to a Zeagle octo/inflater LP hose to get the whole set-up to work. You could also check diveriteexpress.com to see if they have a similar adapter to the Zeagle that would work.

That part certainly looks like it could work. It has the right thread spacing. Post back with an update.

The Zeagle Oco-Z and the Atomic SS1 use the same standard garden hose connector to connect to the corrugated hose and the same male female quick disconnect connector on the LP inflator hose.
They are interchangable when the connector is installed in the corrugated hose and the LP hose with the proper female disconnect is installed.
When the Garden hose connector is installed it makes it very easy to flush the BC.

I recently changed my LP inflator hose to Miflex and used a standard reg hose and ordered an adapter from DiveSports the adapts a standard reg hose to fit the Octo-Z, SS1, Tusa Duo-Air and the ScubaPro Air 2.

I also ordered the adapters to connect a reg hose to a standard inflator and one to connect the SS1/Oct-z to standard inflator.
