yes to both, right now BT will only allow you to change to crest firmware, void the warranty and stop you from enjoying our firmware release in future

I have one of the devices and have started to work on the download, but things have gone off the rails because of some health issues.
I hope I'll be able to get back to it, soon.

@dirkhh - Your health is way more important than anything like this. Our electronic gizmos are of tiny importance in comparison. Get yourself healthy.

I used my Excursion for the first time yesterday. It worked great and was easily visible the whole time. I'm looking forward to the subsurface integration to see a little more data from my logs, but all in all, a good experience. Better than the Deepblu computer I used for my OW class.

Offtopic side note, my new Deep6 Eddy fins were fantastic as well.

My son just passed his DM on the Excursion. Left his Cobalt on the tether except when checking tank pressure.

While I'll give him most of the credit as an exceptional diver, he commented more than once about loving the ascent/descent rate indicator and depth in tenths while having to demo his hovers.

I agree with him. Those 2 things helped me hover better on my stops.

    Just curious a bit here...

I had a 45min dive today, Max Depth was 121fsw.

My Excursion counted down my NDL...then...once it got to "00"...it showed a clock that I believe counted up to a negative 3min...then just went "-3" up to "-20"...at which point, I was at 17fsw...and began my deco stop.

I was expecting 20ins of deco...but was a bit surprised that as I got to the safety stop depth...it was only about 45 seconds of deco....then, the expected 3min safety stop. After that, I got the "clear"...and that was it.

Shouldn't the computer be telling me what my expected deco obligation should be so I can manage my gas supply to give myself enough to complete all my deco stops?

I will reread the manual once I dig it out...

    Thoughts?

My thought is that you should have a gas plan, and a clear understanding of the manual, before intentionally going into deco at 120'.
