Hello. I'm new to scuba diving, and newer to Scubaboard. I do quite a bit of traveling as I am a corporate pilot, (who is kicking himself for not diving earlier). It was suggested that I could get some excellent guidance here. I'm going to be in Tel Aviv for a week soon, and wonder about diving in that area. Making connections in Southern California for diving at home would also be a plus.

Welcome to the 'board!!!

Gary, please feel free to drop on down to your local forum and join in our fun here:

And when you travel (boy, I wish I could fly and get paid to visit awsome dive spots),
check out their local forum and get insider info. Heard Red Sea is great!! Med.Sea just so-so....but locals will know better....

Hope to see you in the water locally some day.

Don't know about Israel, but heard the Red Sea rocks!! I'm jealous. Just be careful flying after diving!!

Pilot Gray,
Head north of Tel Aviv towards Haifa, you are looking for the town of Cesaria. As I recall it is about 1 hour north. It is the ruins of a palace with deep water port engineered and built by King Herod in honor of Ceasar Augustus. Google it. There is a dive shop on location. There are local divers there that can direct you to other sites.

Welcome to :sblogo:

You have been given good advice to navigate the forums here. Use the search engine to track down certain locals, etc.

Welcome to the underwater world!
