Thinking of diving via the live-aboard, Nai'a from oct-nov for 7 days. Any experience with them? Water viz? temp?

Any good ideas to extend the trip a few days? (just thinking about it make me miss Vonu beer!)

This will be our second time to fiji, the last of which we were there a week after the biggest cyclone to ever hit the island, back in March 2018. We stayed at the Remote Resort (amazing and highly recommend!), but were disappointed by the water visibility. Not sure if that was a product of plankton, cyclone, time of year, etc.

I’ve yet to visit Fiji in Oct-Nov, but believe that’s when you can expect some of their coldest water temperatures of the year. Visit the Nai’a website and they’ve got a chart covering the high, low, and average water temps for the past 20 years or so, and they also chart the current water temperature. In order to get a feel for what conditions you might expect, review the dive master diaries on their site and read about past years’ cruises in your time frame.

Fiji Liveaboard Diving & Tonga Whale Watching - NAI'A

The boat itself is extremely comfortable without being ostentatious, and you could not wish to find a better crew. They feed you too much.

Shoot them an email. Nai’a works in conjunction with a Fijian travel agency and they can assist you in finding and booking lodging, transport in country, and etc. They deal with Fiji Airways and will be able to get you a second checked bag round trip for a very reasonable fee.

We dived with Nai'a in May 2018, and everything was amazing, including the vis. I have no idea what the conditions are like in Oct-Nov. We didn't tack on any land-based diving, but some other people on the boat had just come from Taveuni and enjoyed it.
