I am going to purchase a second camera so my fiancé and me will have one on our dives. I currently have a canon sd 550 and have been pretty satisfied with the results. I have been doing a little research and think I am going to go with one of the Canon models.

These three have caught my eye.

Does anyone have any experience with these particular models or very similar models? Could I expect the shots from these cameras to turn out better than my sd550?

If you have any pics taken with these models please share. Thanks

I have an A-85 and all my pictures in my albums here on SB were taken with it. I love mine.

What's wrong with the SD550? I use an A620 that I got cheap plus I just got the Ikelite housing on closeout. Yes, I would like a 3" viewfinder and more rez, but I can live with it. The 550 is nice and small and even at full retail, it's the cheapest Ikelite housing.

Thanks,

that's the A620 in macro mode, no flash... it tends to search for focus in that mode, but one out of 4 are really crisp.

I still use the sd550 and it turns out great pics (check my album). My girlfriend just wanted a second camera to take along. We decided on the Canon A710 IS. Just ordered it tonight. We are looking foward to testing it out in Belize and Cozumel later this month.

My husband and I have an A710IS - has image stabilization in it, which is great.

My photos have been taken on that, although the underwater ones that I have posted are from my first attempt at underwater photography, so shouldn't be used to judge the quality of the camera. My land camera is a Canon Powershot SD600.

Oh, my favorite of Scott's (it was difficult to pick just one!) is the warbonnet. Very nice.

I'm using a A610 in an underwater case by Canon. I've been to 100ft several times with the case with no issues. I takes quality shots, and the video works great as weel. The pictures are getting better every time too as I become a better diver and underwater photographer!
