Have been seeing a single Eagle Ray spoaraticly several times this week, it is beutiful,I only hope for a closer look tomarrow.
 
You will see single eagle rays at the southern sites throughout the year. It's in the winter (January-ish) that they school up north. They certainly are beautiful creatures!

Like MMM says, you can see eagle rays any time of year in Cozumel. Its just winter time that they tend to congregate in the near north.

When we were there at the end of September, we saw 2 spotted eagle rays about 20 feet away at Columbia shallows. We didn't chase them, we just sat in the sand and watched them fly by slow. The DM said he also saw one farther out.
 
Dear Mossman,

You can see eagle rays at any site... all year long, north or south. That is no echo.
