I'm a Fish!
Thanks to Zeeman for this week's theme: if only I'd had the other lens on!

This is for those times when you had macro and the manta swam by or when you had wide angle and found a cool coral crab! Let's see those shots that you got but wish you would have had a different set up along that day!

Here's one of mine...I seem to never see this particular nudibranch when I have a real macro on, but put the Sigma 17-70 and they're everywhere! Happily that lens lets me do a good crops ;)

This Manta ray , the mouth wide open was trying to catch a schooling of pigmy sehorses ( about 2000 ). Unfortunately, she was too busy to see this big hammerhead ( Mokarran) coming behind...then I shot...
If only I had taken my strobe....'quite usefull during a night dive...

That's a real photo?! It's pure black! That set up sounds pretty great, how did that play out?

we came across the biggest nudi we had ever seen at Bare Island.... almity1 had a 60mm lense it was so big, this is the best he could do

I had many "if only" moments in Indonesia ... but in my case it was "if only I had a better camera" ... not sure I need to post the results of those moments ... :shakehead:

Of course it is ! What do you think ?
It is not pure black : if you look at it with attention , lights turned off, during 1 or 2 hours, you will clearly see the big dark manta's mouth and the black eye of the shark...
Scary isn't it ?

You know, if I squint just right, I can just make out.....

:rofl3: Sometimes it's advantageous to have a point and shoot so you can go back and forth and sometimes get the shot. I was taking many photos of a peacock flounder's eye in my macro setting and when I looked up, there was this turtle staring right at me. I was so shocked that I reacted slowly but got this shot in macro mode. I tried to quickly switch to wide angle but I scared him off and missed getting a good shot of him.
