today I passed the final exam on my First Aid course. :balloon
You might ask: "Why is this diving related?" Well, one of the pre-requisites for Rescue Diver is that you have First Aid training. All SCUBA agencies have something like it but usually it's only a few nights of training with few practical exercises. That doesn't work for me.

So, I signed up with the local Red Cross and the the last six months training for a more thorough First Aid training. To keep the certificate valid, you are expected to take additional training throughout the year and do voluntary work. This friday (the 13th :D) I'll be on duty with seven other Red Cross volunteers at a local soccer match. And so on and on. Of course, I'm hoping that we'll have a nice and quiet evening but I'll learn more than if I were taking a refresher course from IDD, PADI etc. every two years.

Good for you Laurens,
I would like to get more first aid training myself.
And the red cross could be very necessary at a soccer game, you know... all those fanatico fans can get pretty brutal.

Congrats! It's always good to know a little about what to do.
