From today's press conference..... more info when released
  • The maximum number of passengers allowed to enter Curacao is no longer in force. Until now, only 20,000 passengers a month were allowed. That expires. The PCR test remains in effect.
  • Children under the age of six do not need to undergo a PCR test. Their parents or supervisors must then be able to submit a negative test. The PCL card is also no longer necessary.
  • It is no longer necessary to apply for a permit. Tourists from high risk countries no longer need to ask for permission to enter Curacao. The travel verification therefore expires.
  • Martina says that from January 1, 2021, a difference will be made in low and medium risk countries. Tourists from these countries must have a PCR test performed 72 hours in advance.

what about that new tourist tax i heard about ? are they still doing that ?

Happy new years sunshine! Sorry to say we won't see you this Jan but maybe later in the year.

The main Curacao website has a banner that states - Travel Updates -| Borders reopening for all countries Click Here

When you access the link, the following is listed -

Please note the following entry conditions apply to all travelers (from low , medium and high risk countries):
Regardless if you are traveling from a low risk or medium risk country these general requirements will apply. Please see the risk area sections for additional requirements.

You have not traveled to another country where there is a high-risk of COVID-19 infections or have been in contact with a person who tested positively for COVID-19 within 14 days prior to arrival. If this is the case, you will be placed in mandatory quarantine.

The site was updated December 29, 2020. I saw no mention of the U.S. four state (New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Florida) high risk exemption on the site.

Hopefully, more clarification is forthcoming about entry into Curacao from high risk countries.

Thank you for the information. Helps to read to the bottom of the page. The four U.S. states are permitted as previously indicated by the government of Curacao. Hoping for the remaining 46 U.S. states to be allowed access.

The info on the Curacao.com website is contradictory and not very helpful. Its seems the intent of the new posting is to announce that CUR is now open to all travelers. I see that they have made some key edits from last night's posting but still problematic, most likely due to careless editing and proofing. Some sections read that all travelers may visit even from high risk with one set of conditions and then elsewhere with a different set. I suspect it will be edited again to provide clarification.

It will also take time for airlines to adjust schedules to account for the changes. For example Jetblue which would have two or three flights weekly nonstop from NY has a single flight in Jan, 3 in Feb and a fuller schedule in March. So there is time to have this sorted out, at least for us who travel through NY. On the whole though it seems clear travel restrictions are easing and not constricting.
