9 trips in all seasons, several operators, few complaints, however my last 4 were with Scuba Club Cozumel....outstanding. Small enough to feel like Mex still, knowledgeable and respectful staff and guests. La pura vida. Save yourself the stress and follow my advice. You will be as impressed as I was. Just returned and the reefs are looking better again after some storm damage on a few. Night diving was spectacular and again, SCC was a diamond.

Just passin it on!!

IMHO, and I'll avoid SCC bashing, there is pleny of history on that from me:

Nothing on Cozumel is "small enought to feel like MX". Try Akumal for that :D

That is true. I should say, for a developed spot, cruise ships and all, SCC does a great job of keeping it feeling small. Food = marginal but eat out 1/2 the time and the rest is outstanding!!.

That is an honest opinion of SCC...now let's talk about the beds

No thanks. I suppose if you like resorts it's an option. I prefer somewhere away from downtown, the waterfront, and all the tourists.

As much as it pains me to post in favor of SCC, it's definatly not downtown!

...not downtown. James, the beds do suck but I have been south of the border, at least 50 times and I have yet to find "American" style comfort in a bed? Have you? I've often thought of bringing a air mattress or novaform but too much to deal with. So I keep the Tequila flowing and sleep like a baby.

We've ONLY stayed there twenty+ times. Great place.

Barracuda Hotel has been just fine for us 5 years in a row now. some say it sucks. What is the general consensus fellow Cozumel Lovers ?

Good Viz,

Probably depends on where you're staying. Presidente definitely has very nice American/European style beds. Frette linens, even.
